It is with great sadness we share with you the passing of Ken McLaughlin

For 15 plus years Ken has been apart of the Orillia Canada Day committee in various positions as well as one of the longest running Board members. On December 12, 2022 he passed away peacefully at his home. Ken will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his Orillia Canada Day family.

Mission Statement

To provide a fun-filled family day celebrating Canadian heritage through entertainment, arts, culture and information on July 1st in Orillia.

In 2003, Orillia Canada Day Inc. became a registered not-for-profit corporation and a registered charitable organization. Presently, our structure has a Core Committee comprised of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson/Treasurer & 2nd Vice Chairperson along with coordinators of various aspects of Canada Day – Children’s Village, Entertainment, Fundraising/Sponsorships, Scheduling and Technical, Fireworks, Media/Marketing, Membership, Operations, Parade, Security, Vendors, Volunteers, Waste Diversion and Website.

These volunteers spend tireless hours preparing for the Celebration, They are joined with about 200 more volunteers on the day to make Orillia’s Canada day celebration All Day Fun…For Everyone!
